As part of the Icing Transformation Challenge, I have decided that I’m going to spend February focusing on how I’m going to make 2009 a golden year. My first task that I set myself was to create a vision board. Now, I have lost count of just how many times I’ve torn up magazines in preparation for making a vision board, only to leave the scraps lying around the house until I got fed up of them and put them out for recycling. This time I actually took the next step, and arranged and pinned them onto the notice board I keep in my bedroom.
As you can see, I chose lots of pictures that featured gold in them, and I added some extra bling using a pack of gold stars that I recently discovered during a post-thesis declutter. Here are a couple of close-ups shots so you can see it in better detail:
The images symbolise abundance, wealth, spiritual growth, positivity, travel, and creativity: all elements that I would like to attract into my life. I really had a lot of fun putting this together and I can’t tell you how happy it makes me feel every time I look at it!
Have you tried your hand at a vision board? How did you find the experience? If you’ve not given it a go as of yet, what kind of images would you choose and what would you like to attract into your life?
PS For more reading on vision boards check out Christine Kane’s fabulous post, How To Make a Vision Board, this Squidoo lens on Vision Boarding, and this Flickr pool, Inspiration Boards. Have fun!

This is a great idea and I love the way that you have done yours. I am going to check out some of the suggested reading on these boards that you included. I think I could use some inspiration. Thanks for the post.

I am definitely going to put one together myself. I’ll start collecting inspiring images today…

This is a very unique way of doing this. I thing I’ll add some spark to mine. I’ve also been meaning to hang mine on the back of my office door. Today is the day.

Well done on actually taking the next step! And I love the addition of gold stars! I know exactly what you mean about scraps lying around the house!
I took a slightly different “next step”. If you’re interested, it’s at http://www.beingamillionaire.com/dreambuilder.
