Autumn in Edinburgh’s Botanical Gardens

I went to the Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh at the weekend and was just completely blown away by the natural beauty that was on display there:

Golden Trees

Rust-Pink Leaves

Autumn Crocus

Rudbeckia Yellow

Michaelmas Daisy

Leaf & Sunshine

I could just lose myself wandering around the paths in that garden.  Always such wonderful things to see: some familiar old friends and some new and exciting discoveries.

Is there some place that you like to visit?  Some place that gives your senses a treat, that lifts your spirits and clears your mind?

  • Amy, I’m pretty much blown away anywhere I go, but I must add, your photographic eye is something altogether special on its own. You have a great ability to distill things down to the essence. Nicely done.

  • Amy, I’m glad you managed some time out to enjoy the autumn. Wonderful photos once again, thank you.

I went to Benmore yesterday to enjoy the trees. It’s so still there, and so beautiful, it was quite overwhelming… in a good way. It’s wonderful to have a place like that where you can go and know you’ll always find peace, and hope.

  • Amy! Thank you for brightening a (too-early) autumn evening! These are, as usual, stunning photographs. I especially like the spirit of the leaf…

  • Hi Amy,

I love finding magical places in the city. What I love is noticing a place become magical – like the Christmas market in Manchester, or being surprised by a moment of magic that I never realised before.

I sometimes find myself trying to recreate old magic rather than enjoying the new magic of the present.

Eating dinner with my wife, candlelight and soft music is one of my favourite things.

  • Hi Amy, these photos are lovely! I don’t have a magical place yet but I’m working on it! I do find just being outdoors even in my neighborhood is so beautiful. The trees are bursting with a cornucopia of color and there’s a pond that adds a soothing peace.
